During the Tour, His Majesty visited Phuentsholing, Samtse, Gelephu, Sarpang, Tsirang and Wangdue Phodrang. His Majesty granted Audiences to the COVID-19 Task force teams in the dzongkhags, as well as the Southern COVID-19 Task Force which was newly reconstituted in Phuentsholing to oversee the next phase of our national response to the pandemic. His Majesty also granted an Audiences to the Desuups of the 49th Batch De-Suung Accelerated Training Programme at training centers in Tendruk and Tashicholing (Samtse), Jigmeling and Pelrithang (Sarpang) and Tencholing and Dewathang. His Majesty visited the Gyalsung Academy sites being developed in Tareythang (Sarpang) and Jamtsholing (Samtse), and visited De-Suung Skilling Programme training centres for Driving in Samtse, and Culinary Arts in Serzhong. His Majesty also met with De-suups working on the Million Fruit Tree Plantation (MFTP), National Accelerated Dog Population Management (ADPM) and Rabies Control, National Service Water Projects, and De-suung kitchens. The Royal Tour also included visits to Damdum where a 500-bed quarantine facility is under construction, border outposts patrolled by De-suups, and a refurbished pedestrian terminal at the international gate in Phuentsholing, which is also under construction.
